Because most chiropractors are of the traditional variety, it is important to define what is considered to be "traditional chiropractic" care.
Traditional Chiropractic has three goals:
- Decrease Muscular Spasm
- Increase Range of Motion
- Reduce Pain
This is what MOST chiropractors offer in a way of care, and we believe most of them do a great job at accomplishing these goals.
Nerve Interference Correction
At Align Chiropractic & Acupuncture, we take a different approach. Our focus is a branch of chiropractic that focuses on correcting the primary condition known as Nerve Interference.
Think of your nervous system as the cord to a refrigerator. If the cord becomes unplugged, it would be reasonable to expect the inside of your refrigerator to suffer secondary consequences, right? Maybe you would notice the light bulb go out or your food begin to rot? Now, you can spend time changing the light bulb and restocking the shelves but what do you think the result would be in doing so? Your refrigerator would still not work. All you are doing is attempting to fix the secondary consequences, leaving the primary reason for the problem (the cord being unplugged) uncorrected. Rather than constantly repairing the damage, we’ve chosen to focus on correcting the “underlying cause” so that your body reaches as much of its normal function as possible.
